Skype-a-Thon 2016

On 29th Novembers students from Taras Shevchenko Himnazia from the classes of Hanna Dudich and Tetyana Dyakonenko joined the international Skype-lesson called Microsoft Skype-a-Thon. We had a Mystery-Skype lesson with Great Britain and met children from Mr Woodfield's class at Brownmead Academy. First the children were asked to find out where their Skype-partners are from by asking questions that you answer with a yes or no. Then, after having guessed each other's countries we had a lovely discussion about national food, education, weather and traditions. We all enjoyed our communication so much that we agreed to start a joint project of exchanging cultural artefacts called "Cultural Package Exchange". Looking forward to cooperating with our new friends!

Майстер-клас для педагогів стажистів, які викладають іноземні мови

12 жовтня 2016 року на базі гімназії ім. Т. Шевченка було проведено майстер-клас для педагогів стажистів, які викладають іноземні мови, з проблеми «Мультимедійні навчальні проекти на уроках англійської мови як ефективний засіб розвитку навичок XXI століття». Керівники: Таран І.М., методист ЦМСПС та Дудіч Г.В., учитель англійської мови гімназії ім. Т. Шевченка. Молоді педагоги міста подивились і проаналізували три фрагменти уроків з елементами проектної діяльності та з використанням ІКТ: урок Каширної В.А. в 4-му класі на тему «Наші вподобання», урок-екскурсію по шкільному музею Тараса Шевченка, яку провели учні 10 класу під керівництвом Яковцевої І.О. та урок Дудіч Г.В. у 8-му класі на тему "Пам'ятки архітектури України". Молоді вчителі побачили використання таких сучасних засобів навчання, як інтерактивна дошка, смарт-ТВ, окуляри віртуальної реальності, застосунки Sway, Nearpod, Prezi. 

Семінар та демонстраційні уроки від Pearson-Dinternal

22-24 листопада у місті Кропивницькому компанією Dinternal-Book, ексклюзивним імпортером британської навчальної літератури видавництва Pearson, було організовано ряд заходів для вищих та загальноосвітніх навчальних закладів. Семінар та демонстраційні уроки було проведено старшим методистом компанії Оленою Міходуй.

Для вчителів загальноосвітніх навчальних закладів міста Кропивницького було проведено ряд демонстраційних уроків з учнями середніх та старших класів. На базі нашої гімназії було проведено демонстраційний урок із запровадженням сучасних комунікативних підходів до навчання англійської мови в старших класах на основі нового підручника «Focus» видавництва Pearson, який визнаний № 1 для підготовки до міжнародних іспитів та ЗНО у Європі. Учителі гімназії Наталія Ткаченко, Ірина Харченко і Ганна Дудіч відвідали демонстраційний урок в 10-му класі НВО, учитель Тетяна Дьяконенко відвідала демо-урок з учнями 6-го класу в ЗОШ 34 на основі нового підручника видавництва Pearson для середньої школи «Next Move». Після демо-уроків учителі долучились до обговорення і поділилися враженнями. Дякуємо методистам Pearson-Dinternal за нові ідеї щодо навчання англійської мови.

 

Greenwich-2016

Нещодавно учителями англійської мови початкової школи "Гармонія" було залучено майже 100 учнів 2-х, 3-х та 4-х класів до участі у сьомому Всеукраїнському конкурсі "Greenwich". До конкурсу також долучились близько 30 учнів старшої школи. Школярі охоче виконували конкурсні завдання, які мали форму тесту та були надзвичайно цікавими. Ці завдання надають учням змогу не лише перевірити свій рівень володіння лексико-граматичним матеріалом, а й допомагають формувати комунікативну та соціокультурну компетенції, розвивати навички критичного мислення. Щира подяка вчителям англійської мови Валентині Каширній і Юлії Віхтоденко за організацію конкурсу. Дуже сподіваємось на гарні результати!

Семінар від «Macmillan Publishers Ltd». Аналіз типових помилок та стратегія підготовки до ЗНО.

Ганна Дудіч, Наталія Ткаченко та Оксана Ромащенко взяли участь в роботі семінару британського видавництва «Macmillan Publishers Ltd», який відбувся 02 листопада 2016 року на базі ОУНБ ім. Д. Чижевського. Проблема семінару: «Аналіз типових помилок та стратегія підготовки до ЗНО». Керівники: Таран І.М., методист ЦМСПС, Оксана Цегей, методист британського видавництва «Macmillan Publishers Ltd». На семінарі педагоги ознайомилися з аналізом типових помилок при складанні ЗНО та шляхами їх усунення, мали можливість переглянути нову методичну літературу, використання якої сприяє успішній підготовці до екзамену. Учасники семінару отримали сертифікати.

 

 

 

International youth project «Polish - Ukrainian guide of positive actions»

During autumn holidays (20/10/2016-27/10/2016) the students of Taras Shevchenko Himnazia took part in the international youth project called «Polish - Ukrainian Guide of Positive Actions». The initiator and coordinator of the project was Ms. Mirela Szymczak. The coordinator from Ukraine was Iryna Kharchenko. They were also helped by the teachers of English Joanna Krauz-Zalewska from Poland and Hanna Dudich from Ukraine.

School museums+Nearpod VR

As you probably know, our school has become the winner of the Nearpod VR Grant. As a part of this grant we received Nearpod VR headsets. We started exploring virtual reality at the lessons by using 360 degrees images available at the Nearpod website, but then we decided to promote students' creativity. Why not make some VR content ourselves? There are two great museums in our school - The World War II Museum and Taras Shevchenko Museum. We made Photo Sphere images of these museums using Google Street View app and smartphones. On 17th September we celebrated the City Day. During this event the students of our school conducted virtual fieldtrips to our school museums for the city residents without leaving the main street of the city! They only used a smartphone and a pair of VR goggles! The effect was great. A lot of community members learned about our school museums where students act as guides and conduct excursions. People planned real trips to our museums. The best moment for me was when a child in a wheel-chair put on a VR headset. You should have seen his face! I'm afraid, it is difficult for this kid to visit museums in real life because not all places are equipped for handicapped people, but technology made it possible for him to be a part of his local community and visit interesting places. Annual pre-school city conference for EFL teachers.

25/08/2016 about 40 EFL teachers from Kropyvnytskyi participated in the Annual Pre-school City EFL Teachers' Conference which took place in Kirovohrad Regional Universal Research Library named after D.I.Chizhevsky  Among the presenters were Svitlana Bondarenko, the local methodologist, Margaryta Kaliuzhna, a MIEExpert and Hanna Dudich, a MIEExpert and a PenPal Schools Global Ambassador.

Svitlana Bondarenko made the analysis of the work of foreign languages teachers in 2015-2016 school year and presented documents from the Ministry of Education for the new school year. Margaryta Kaliuzhna spoke about using Microsoft Office 365 for educational purposes.

Hanna Dudich spoke about developing 21st century skills through project-based learning, introduced ed-tech tools, such as Nearpod and VR kits and encouraged teachers to work with PenPal Schools website.

Готуємось до нового навчального року.

Літо ще не закінчилося, а вчителі англійської мови гімназії вже активно займаються професійним розвитком і самовдосконаленням. 15-16 серпня Інна Яковцева відвідала дводенний семінар-тренінг "Твій сучасний підручник", що був організований центром іноземних мов ТСП спільно з видавництвами Oxford, Macmillan та Hueber. Інна Олексіївна ознайомилася з новими НМК з англійської та німецької мов, поділилась з колегами досвідом викладання іноземної мови за сучасними підручниками. Так тримати! Чудовий початок нового навчального року.

"Олімпус"

Нарешті маємо результати позапрограмної всеукраїнської предметної олімпіади "Олімпус" ВЕСНЯНА СЕСІЯ з англійської та німецької мови. "Олімпус" з німецької мови організувала і провела Оксана Любчич. Дев'ятеро учнів отримали дипломи лауреатів і книгу в нагороду, 16 - дипломи лауреатів, інші - дипломи учасників. В англомовному "Олімпусі" взяли участь учні Валентини Каширної, Ванди Левченко, Наталії Лисенко, Ганни Дудіч, Наталії Ткаченко. Двоє учнів отримали дипломи лауреатів і книгу в нагороду, двоє інших дипломи лауреатів. Вітаємо лауреатів і учасників, дякуємо вчителям!

PenPal Schools

This academic year my 6th and 7th formers participated in PenPal Schools project. I signed up my students for the World Explorer course. All the participants were matched with their own PenPal for a 6-Week exchange. Students watched great videos and practiced reading and writing in English while learning about life in their PenPals country. Here is what they say about their experience:

Today we had a great VR lesson. I created a virtual reality tour to London with the help of Nearpod application. The effect was great. The students really enjoyed the lesson. We explored the British Museum, saw the Houses of Parliament and the Tower, went up in the London Eye and visited other interesting sights.

Dear friends, I'm so excited to inform you that our school team has become the People Award Winner in the School Enterprise Challenge 2015. The students of the 9-A economic class have done a great job starting their school pastry business called "Anticrisis Hut".
