Через брак часу тільки знайшла хвилинку, щоб описати свою подорож в Абу-Дабі на міжнародний освітній форум QUDWA2017.
Ранок в Арабських Еміратах, полудень в Афінах, вечір в Києві, вночі в Кропивницькому. Це була довга, але надзвичайно корисна подорож на міжнародний освітній форум QUDWA 2017, що проходив в Абу-Дабі 7-8 жовтня під патронатом Його Високості шейха Мухамеда бен Зайда Аль Нахайяна, принца Абу-Дабі. QUDWA в перекладі з арабської означає «приклад для наслідування». Серед учасників форуму –учителі-новатори, експерти, які стоять в авангарді сучасної освіти. Я отримала запрошення взяти участь в роботі форуму як «Учитель-амбасадор Варкі» і фіналіст конкурсу Global Teacher Prize. Про конкурс Global Teacher Prize, Global Education and Skills Forum та про те, як стати «Учителем-амбасадором Варкі» я писала в попередній статті. Можливість взяти участь в таких міжнародних освітніх подіях як форуми QUDWA і GESF та долучитись до реальних педагогічних інновацій це одна з переваг статусу «Учителя-амбасадора Варкі», отже раджу всім прогресивним українським освітянам взяти участь в міжнародному конкурсі Global Teacher Prize наступного року.

How do we teach our children to become global citizens? I was looking for answers at GESF and VTA Leadership Summit 2017.

How would you define global citizenship? Are education systems really creating “global citizens”? How do we teach our children to become global citizens? Together with enthusiastic teachers from all over the world, I was looking for the answers to these questions at two great educators’ events: the Varkey Teacher Ambassadors Leadership Summit (16^th-17^th March 2017, GEMS National Academy, Dubai) and the Global Education and Skills Forum (18^th-19^th March 2017, Atlantis The Palm, Dubai).

My journey to these events began from applying to the Global teacher Prize. The Global Teacher Prize is a US $1 million award presented annually to an exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to their profession. The prize serves to underline the importance of educators and the fact that, throughout the world, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated. It seeks to acknowledge the impacts of the very best teachers – not only on their students but also on the communities around them. The Global Teacher Prize is awarded by the Varkey Foundation under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Emir of Dubai.

My journey as Global Teacher Prize Top 50 finalist

After being shortlisted as Global Teacher Prize Top 50 finalist I have given numerous interviews to newspapers, magazines and internet editions, have spoken on the radio and have conducted several demonstrative lessons for TV channels. This media attention has had a great outcome:

I had a chance to tell how I use Project Based Learning at the lessons of English to promote international collaboration, active citizenship and teach about global values as well as share the most successful projects;
My idea of creating portable STEAM labs to provide equal access to quality education for all kids, irrespective of where they live has been promoted, decision makers and several organizations got interested in it, so hopefully we'll find the way to bring it to life;
I got lots of messages via social networks both from the people I know and from complete strangers, telling me how happy they were reading positive news about teachers and education. I want to say thank you to Varkey Foundation for highlighting the importance of educators. A lot of people lost faith in the ability to change the conservative system of education in Ukraine for better, but now they see hope again;
After reading Top 50 Finalists' profiles, a lot of teachers got motivated to continue professional development using all possible resources. I was invited by different teacher development institutions in Ukraine to give master classes and to share my experience.

So many positive changes happening and this is just the beginning of my journey as the Global Teacher Prize Top 50 Finalist! I'm looking forward to this wonderful experience.
